Women involved in the local milk value chain in the Savannah region face enormous difficulties, from production to marketing of their products, which has a negative impact on their income. These difficulties include limited access to raw materials (milk), restricted mobility, limited access to financing, and poor access to training and extension services. There is thus a need to harmonize sales practices in order to promote equity in this sector. Hence the formulation of this project supported by the NGO GEVAPAF.

The aim of this project is to set up wagashi milk processing units managed by women's groups from farmers' households. To achieve this, the project will include: acquisition of suitable equipment for milk collection and wagashi processing, training of beneficiaries in good hygiene and sanitary practices, training in financial and entrepreneurial education, acquisition of scales for weighing wagashi. The project also includes the establishment of a digitalized network of transporters to facilitate the collection and distribution of wagashi. To enhance the value of local milk in the Savannah region, the project will act on the following levers: Professionalization of milk processing (upstream), Professionalization of wagashi collection, Professionalization of wagashi marketing, Strengthening of inter-community links.

To improve the resilience of vulnerable households living off milk and milk products in the project areas.
