Malick Ben Idriss LOMPO joined ARAA in January 2016 as head of the analysis and decision support unit of the ECOWAS Regional Food Security Reserve. As a result of the institutional reform of ECOWAS in 2019, the Regional Food Security Reserve was established as a Technical Division within the RAAF and Mr. Lompo now holds the position of market analyst and data management within of this Division.
Mr. Lompo has nearly 20 years of professional experience in the field of agricultural market analysis and Food and Nutrition Security at the national, regional and international level. From 2004 to 2009, he held various positions at the national level, notably within the Interprofessional Cereals Committee of Burkina (CIC-B) and as head of the Food and Nutritional Security Information Center in Burkina Faso. Since 2009, he has been pursuing a career at the regional and international level which has allowed him to work in recognized institutions such as AfricaRice Center, International Fertilizer Development Center (IFDC) and Abt Associates. He worked successively in Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Ghana and Togo.
Mr. Lompo holds a State Engineer Diploma (Bac + 6) in Agronomy specializing in Applied Computer Science from the Department of Statistics and Applied Computer Science of the Hassan II Agronomic and Veterinary Institute - Rabat (Kingdom of Morocco).
